(Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks making history)….And it is happening this weekend
. For the first time ever, the Super Trucks will be racing on the temporary 2.8 kilometer street course of the Honda Indy Toronto. And that is not all. For the first time, two Championship Indy drivers will be participating in the event, driving Super Trucks, not Indy cars. Joining Imperial Valley native Jason Lofton, Robby Gordon and the rest of the Super Truck drivers, Paul Tracy and Jimmy Vasser will be racing, as well. Tracy, a native of Toronto, Canada says he has never driven a Super Truck, but has visited Glamis several times and he does have experience driving off-road vehicles. Tracy was CART Series Champion in 2003. The 1996 CART Series Champion, Vasser also says he has off-road experience. They and the other participants will be driving the special course in their 600 horsepower Super Trucks, launching over metal jumps and flying more than 50 feet in the air. Tracy said he is looking forward to once again racing against Gordon, and once again beating him. The Race Sunday will be aired live on Sportsnet.
