(The numbers are in)…They are for the Prescription Take Back Day.
The 10th annual event was held last Saturday. The annual event was created by the Drug Enforcement Administration to allow residents dispose of unwanted and out-dated pills and other prescription drugs, anonymously and with no questions asked. 42 collection centers were set-up in San Diego County and 3 in Imperial County. The DEA says a total of 14,595 pounds of drugs were dropped off. DEA Special Agent in Charge William Sherman said they were pleased to see that Southern Californians are motivated to make their homes safer for our youth.
