Five may have been victims of the heat

(Excessive heat may have claimed a life)….The death was discovered by Border Patrol agents.

The agents came upon a group of five undocumented migrants at around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. They were found near Highway 98 and Mount Signal Road. Four of the five were in very poor health. The fifth, a 22-year-old woman, was dead. Deputy Coroner Rodolfo Barron responded to the scene. He said it appears the woman died as a result of heat exhaustion. An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death. Barron says the woman was from Oaxaca, Mexico. The other four, a woman and 3 men, also suspected of coming from Oaxaca, were transported to the hospital. The second womanly was reportedly in very poor condition when she was transported. The condition of the surviving four is not known. Temperatures were over 115 degrees Saturday afternoon.
