(Supervisors discuss a pay increase)….The issue was on the consent agenda Tuesday
. Supervisor John Renison asked that it be pulled for discussion. The issue was to approve the first reading of an ordinance that could give the Board its first pay increase since November 2013. Under the proposal, the ordinance would allow a 2.5% increase this next fiscal year and a 2.5% increase in fiscal year 2016-17. Supervisors Ray Castillo and Renison said they did not think it was a good time to approve a pay increase. They said there were still issues being negotiated with employee groups and the Board should not discuss a raise for themselves until all issues were resolved. The Board unanimously agreed to table the issue until the next Supervisors meeting. Supervisor Jack Terrazas suggested the issue be placed on the action calendar when it is brought back.
