(Getting ready for Flu Season.)….Imperial County Public Health Department will begin offering flu shots next week.
On October 1st Flu Shots will be available to individuals six months and older. The Department will host a Flu clinic at the Department’s Training Center that day from 8:00 am until noon. They will start accepting walk-ins on October 2nd. Flu shots for seniors start Thursday, October 3rd at regularly scheduled Senior Clinics throughout Imperial County. This year’s Flu Vaccine will protect against seasonal flu. The flu shot costs $5.00 this year. Doctor Stephen Munday, Public Health Officer, says since the Flu Vaccine takes about two weeks to become effective, it is recommended qualified individuals get their shots early. Munday said flu season normally peaks in late December and early March.
