El Centro police are investigating an early Sunday morning accident.

At about 1:45 a.m. El Centro Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle accident at 4th and Broadway. On arrival officers found a Nissan Altima on it's side but no driver or passengers. Apparently all the occupants of the car fled the scene. Officers contacted the local hospitals to see if any people had shown up at the Emergency Department with injuries consistent with an automobile accident at either facility with no luck. The accident remains under investigation.
