(Calexico man arrested recently in Calexico)....Calexico Police had responded to a disturbance call from a local store.

When they arrived they found the suspect Fernando Fernandez pushing a shopping cart with a baseball bat in it. Police found the suspect had used the bat to assault one of the store's customers. The victim reportedly received substantial injuries. After police arrested Fernandez, they found he was a known Gang member and a convicted felon. He was taken into custody on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats.
