(Border Patrol Seizes fentanyl)....They seized a lot of Fentanyl.

It happened recently in the San Diego area. Border Patrol agents pulled over a suspect vehicle on Interstate 5. A Border Patrol Canine Team alerted to the grey sedan. Agents transported the vehicle and the driver to a near-by Border Patrol Station. The vehicle was searched and agents discovered 15 cellophane wrapped packages inside the spare tire. The packages contained blue pills, that later tested positive for Fentanyl. The packages weighed 38 pounds for an estimated street value of over $1.7 million. The Drug Enforcement Administration says one kilogram of fentanyl has the potential of killing half a million people. The driver and the pills were turned over to the DEA. The vehicle was seized by the Border Patrol Agents. The seizure is part of Opperation Apollo, a joint regional operation comprised of federal, state and local agencies working to combat the threat from fentanyl and other illicit narcotics.
