The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, have returned to the Valley.

The F-18 Super Hornets arrived at NAF El Centro at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, several hours before the previously announced arrival time. The team spends several months honing their skills prior to the yearly air show schedule. The Blue Angels are led by Commanding Officer / Flight Leader CDR Alexander Armatas. LCDR Jack Keilty flies right wing, Lt Wes Perkins left wing, LDCR Amanda Lee flies' slot, LDCR Griffin Stangel lead solo, CDR Thomas Zimmerman opposing solo and the narrator is Lt Conner O'Donnell. 

The team will begin training immediately at Naval Air Facility El Centro, their Winter Home for over 50 years. The first air show will March 9, 2024, for the Naf El Centro Festival of Flight.
