A truck load of marijuana was seized at the Otay Mesa port of entry's cargo facility.

On Friday, September 22, shortly before 3:00 p.m., CBP officers stopped a tractor-trailer rig with a cargo manifested as abrasive cutting wheels. The driver, a 46-year-old Mexican citizen, and the truck were referred to secondary inspection. The trailer was screened and that screening revealed anomalies. Further inspection led to the discovery of over 2,500 pounds of marijuana concealed in the cargo. The 102 packages have a street value of over $5.1 million. The driver was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for processing.
