It appears the summer heat is leaving the Imperial Valley.

Typically, the weather in the Valley begins to cool about the middle of September and, this year, that change is right on schedule. The National Weather Service (NWS) says a dry, tranquil weather pattern will prevail across the region through the next several days. A building high pressure area will result in slightly above normal temperatures through the weekend and then cooler weather following starting Monday. The forecast says high will be about 97 Monday and then dropping a degree or two everyday through the week. Overnight lows will range between the mid-60's to low 70's. Winds will be from the west 5 to 10 mph.
