(Imperial County Teacher of the Year).....The Teacher of the Year was announced by the Imperial County Office of Education.

The 2023 Imperial County Teacher of the Year is Jason Sanchez. Jason is a Junior High School Science teacher from the El Centro Elementary School District. He started his teaching career in Winterhaven at San Pasqual Valley Unified School District over 20 years ago, He has taught a variety of subjects including English language arts, math, and science. Currently Mr. Sanchez is an 8th grade science teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School in El Centro, in the El Centro Elementary School District. County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Todd Finnell Said Mr. Sanchez is an excellent example of the quality of teachers in Imperial County. Jason Sanchez automatically becomes the Imperial County nominee in the upcoming 2024 California Teacher of the Year Program. There will be five statewide Teachers of the Year in California.
