A traffic stop on Wednesday led to the arrest of two women.

At about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Imperial Police Officer Mark Janosz made a traffic stop near the intersection of Imperial Avenue and 9th Street. While Janosz was talking with the driver he noticed what appeared to be methamphetamine in the car. The driver and a passenger were detained while the vehicle was searched. A bag containing approximately 9.5 ounces of methamphetamine was found as was drug paraphernalia. The driver, Dorine Willingham, 51, of El Centro, and the passenger, Karen Pederson, 47, of Imperial, were booked at Imperial County Jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance For Sale and other drug related charges.
