Customs and Border Protection says a 37 year old woman drove up to the port last Wednesday. There were two passengers in the 2005 Chevy sedan, an 18-year-old male and a 14-year-old female. They all presented legal documents to cross the border. The vehicle was referred to the secondary inspection area. A non-intrusive inspection was utilized to scan the entire vehicle. CBP officers noticed irregularities in the front bumper. A canine team was brought in and the dog alerted to the same area. Officers removed 99 packages from the front bumper and firewall. The packages weighed over 100 pounds. The estimated value of the seized narcotic was set at $133,596. The 37-year-old driver of the vehicle was turned over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Homeland Security Investigations. The passengers were turned over to relatives in Mexico.
