(The IID, Consulate of Mexico in Calexico and others)....They are working together to warn people.

They want them to know the dangers surrounding the All American Canal. Several people have lost their lives trying to cross illegally into the United States via the canal. The Imperial Irrigation District, the Mexican Consulate are working with the US Border Patrol and the US Bureau of Reclamation to enhance safety measures along the All American canal. In December the IID added buoy lines across the canal at each of the five hydroelectric drops. The IID and the Consulate are working on new bilingual public outreach campaign with the message; Stay Alive, Stay away, Canals are dangerous. The messages will be delivered through print media, social media, television, radio, billboards, website and other communication platforms, ensuring the message gets out south of the border.
