The Imperial Irrigation District will receive $1.2 million for the District's Mecca and North Shore Energy Infrastructure Resiliency Project.

The money is included in the recently approved federal budget. The project, when fully built, will increase resiliency of IID's energy infrastructure to the communities of Mecca and North Shore, helping to reduce energy service disruptions from outages often caused by extreme weather events. IID Board President Alex Cardenas thanked U. S. Senator Alex Padilla and Congressman Raul Ruiz for working with the District to secure the federal funding for the project.
