San Felipe residents caught with cocaine and meth

(Two women caught trying to smuggle narcotics)….The two San Felipe residents were caught at the Downtown Calexico Port of Entry.

A K-9 team was recently screening vehicles in line to cross into the United States. The detector dog alerted to a 2006 Ford. Customs and Border Protection Officers escorted the vehicle and the two occupants to the secondary inspection area. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 8 wrapped packages of cocaine and 3 packages of methamphetamine hidden in the firewall of the vehicle. The narcotics weighed 24 pounds, with a street value of $205,000. The 49-year-old driver and the 37-year-old passenger, both citizens of Mexico, were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations agents for processing. They were booked into County Jail to await arraignment. The CBP officers seized the vehicle and narcotics.
