According to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol news release , the big rig entered the Calexico East port of entry cargo facility Friday afternoon at about 5:20 P.M. The truck and cargo were sent to secondary for a more intense screening where the ports imaging system detected anomalies in the cargo of alfalfa. A canine team alerted to the bales of alfalfa inside the trailer where 111 packages of marijuana , weighing 2,707 pounds , was found concealed. The marijuana has a street value of $1 million.
