APCD records high levels of PM 2.5 Sunday

(Air Quality not good on Sunday)…..The Air Pollution Control District says Air Quality in Calexico was Unhealthy for Sensitive groups.

The 24-hour average for PM 2.5 at the Ethel Street monitoring station measured 106 on the Air Quality Index at 7:00 Sunday morning. That constitutes a condition of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. The At Risk, or Sensitive Groups, are people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children. The Environmental Protection Agency says when that level is reached, the At Risk group should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion. Air Quality levels Monday had reduced to levels of Moderate to Good Air Quality.
