Mountain Fire smolders

(Mountain Fire officially 92% contained)…Officials say in reality, the fire is pretty much out, but continues to smolder.

In their latest report, fire officials say 146 fire personnel remain on seen to monitor hot spots and put out flare-ups. The fire started in the early afternoon July 15. Since then it has burned 27,531 acres, destroying 23 structures, including six residences. Six people were injured in the fire. Cal Fire says they have turned control over to the San Bernardino Forest Service. They say several campgrounds and mountain trails remain closed to the public, but all evacuations were lifted a few days ago. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
