(Poll Workers sought)….The new workers will fill the vacancies created by retirements or for other reasons.
The Registrar of Voters office says between every election cycle, registered voters are recruited to volunteer as poll workers. They will be paid for their service. Inspectors receive a stipend of $75. Clerks receive a stipend of $65. Additional $15 is paid for attending the required Election Training Class. That stipend is paid when a poll worker actually works on Election Day. Spanish speaking poll workers are also being sought to comply with the Voting Rights Acts. Citizens who are registered to vote, who want to serve their communities, should call the Elections Department for information on becoming a Poll Worker.
