U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Calexico Downtown port of entry apprehended two suspects this past weekend that were wanted for homicide.
On Saturday night , 24-year old Daniel Valenzuela Rodriguez , a Mexican citizen living in Thermal , California , was a passenger in a vehicle at the Calexico downtown port of entry. CBP officers were able to confirm that Valenzuela had a warrant for his arrest alleging homicide in Riverside County. On Sunday afternoon , Mexican law enforcement officers turned over Christian Medina , a 21-year old U.S. citizen living in Mexicali , Baja California , to U.S. authorities. Medina has a no-bail warrant out of Santa Ana , California for alleged involvement in a gang related homicide. Monday night CBP officers encountered a 17-year old male U. S. citizen living in Monterey Park , California , who was a passenger in a vehicle. A records check discovered the minor has a warrant for attempted robbery out of Los Angeles. All three were booked into Imperial County Jail.
