Car racing is back, at least for 1 night

(Racing is coming back to the Fair Grounds)…..For years, the Fair Grounds track featured car racing of all types.

This month, they will feature Sprint Cars. Also, Dwarf cars will be racing. The event is scheduled for November 16th. The California Lightening Sprints and Dwarf Cars will be bringing their show to Imperial Valley. The CLS is a California Based 1200 cc Mini-Sprint club. The group competes in both winged and non-winged events at the Perris, Bakersfield, Ventura, Santa Maria, Barona and Victorville clay ovals. The small cars reach speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The Dwarf cars are Jalopy replicas of vintage 1928 to 1948 coupes, sedans or pick-ups. The Dwarfs are smaller replicas of the Jalopy’s that raced at Imperial Raceway in the 1950’s. The racing Saturday starts at 6:00 pm. Tickets are just $10 for adults, $5 for children 7-12. Six and under are admitted free.
