Friday is Law Enforcement Memorial Day.

A ceremony will be held at the Imperial County Courthouse on Main Street to remember 49 law enforcement officers from federal, state, county and city agencies who died n the lane of duty in Imperial Valley. A motorcade of law enforcement vehicles will arrive at the courthouse at 6:00 p.m. The program will start at 7:00 p.m. An honors ceremony will follow. Guest speakers will address the assembly followed by the reading of the names of the fallen. There will also be a 21-gun salute, a flag-folding ceremony, taps and a moment of silence where glow sticks will represent a candlelight vigil. The Imperial Valley Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony is open to the public.
