SDCWA wants to collect from Imperial County

(San Diego is going after Attorney’s fees)….A Sacramento Superior Court Judge recently validated the QSA.

In his decision, the Judge left open for the possibility of the Imperial Irrigation District, San Diego County Water District, Metropolitan Water District and others sued over the validation to collect court costs. The Judge has yet to rule on that possibility. A ruling could come some time this week. San Diego County Water Authority does not want just Court Costs, they are pursuing Attorneys fees, as well. They have filed legal action to collect the fees from Imperial County and the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District. The action has been filed with the Sacramento Superior Court. They are seeking a decision September 26th, or as soon as possible. The County has filed an appeal to the validation decision. The Imperial Irrigation District has agreed to wait until after the appeal is heard before they discuss Court Costs.
