A former Commanding Officer of the Blue Angels has been reprimanded after being found guilty of failing to stop sexual harassment within the elite team.
Captain Gregory McWherter , who commanded the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron on two separate occasions , was found guilty by an Admiral's Mast that was convened in Pearl Harbor. Captain McWherter was issued a non-judicial punitive letter of reprimand , an almost certain career killer. McWherter was Commanding Officer of the Blue Angels from 2008 through 2010 and in May of 2011 he was brought back to lead the team until November of 2012. Most recently he was Executive Officer of Naval Base Coronado in San Diego.
