(Governor appoints three to the water board)…One is a Brawley resident.
Governor Brown recently announced the appointments to the Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board. Among the new appointees is 43-year-old Hidali Garcia from Brawley. Garcia has been director of English learner services at the Coachella Valley Unified School District since 2012. Before that she worked for the Brawley Elementary School District. Also appointed to the Board were 64-year-old Edward Muzik of Indian Wells and 62 year old Jayne Powell of Rancho Mirage. The appointments still need state Senate confirmation.
