California State Parks officials say that you can expect a moderate wildflower bloom this spring.

Last year , hundreds of thousands of people from around the world visited California State Parks which experienced an exceptional wildflower bloom. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area were carpeted with white , purple , red , orange and yellow blooms. Historically , wildflowers bloom from late February to early April and the bloom is affected by many factors to include the amount of rain. This weeks rain may have a positive affect on the bloom. California State Parks suggests in the Anza-Borrego Park you hike Slot Canyon or Font's Point. In the Ocotillo Wells area you could ride the Youth Track or visit Devil's Slide. Wherever you go you are reminded to be careful and respect the landscape.
