U. S. Customs and Border Protection will send 100 agents to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) officers in immigration enforcement operations in several " sanctuary " cities.

Acting ICE Director Matthew Albence said his agency would be using the CBP agents to help with enforcement activity in response to the challenges stemming from sanctuary city policies. Reports indicate that the agents , including members of the BORSTAR Teams , will be sent to cities like Los Angeles , San Francisco , Newark and others with large immigrant populations.
