A Nissan Frontier drove into the Interstate Border Patrol Checkpoint near Pine Valley. The vehicle was referred to the secondary inspection area. Agents searched the vehicle and found a compartment welding to the vehicle. It took agents a few hours to free the compartment and open it. Inside they found 7.9 pounds of Black Tar Heroin, with a street value of $210,000. The 33-year-old male driver of the vehicle and the 31-year-old female passenger, both Mexican Nationals, were arrested and the narcotics and vehicle were seized.
