(EEOC sues Mexicali Chicken and Salads in El Centro)…The suit was filed in US District Court for the Southern District of California.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says the lawsuit alleges sexual Harassment. The EEOC says the restaurant violated federal law when a male manager allegedly terminated a female employee for rejecting unwanted sexual advances and complaining about the harassment to another manager. The EEOC statement says the litigation was filed after first attempting to reach a settlement through its conciliation process. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages for the female employee, as well as injunctive relief intended to prevent further sexual harassment and discrimination at the restaurant. The EEOC did not say when the litigation would go before a judge.
