(A Change in the weather)….It is supposed to happen over the weekend.
The National Weather Service says the sunny skies in Imperial County should change Sunday. They are reporting an area of low pressure developing off the coast of Baja California will tap into significant moisture, spreading northward into Southeast California. The Weather Service says the moisture will begin increasing Sunday, with the bulk of the moisture arriving Monday and continuing through Tuesday. They are forecasting scattered showers and the possibility of some heavy rain developing area wide Monday, becoming numerous on Tuesday as the low off Baja ejects inland to the northeast. Embedded thunderstorms with heavy rain are also expected, especially Tuesday afternoon and evening. The system is expected to gradually move west on Wednesday. With the storm come the possibility of localized flooding of area washes, and low-lying areas. The National Weather Service said wind gusts in excess of 50 miles per hour can be expected with stronger storms. They say wet microbursts may produce damaging winds.
