Bico scores another hit

(Bico finds more marijuana)…. Bico is an El Centro Police Department k-9.

He works with officer Filemon Magana. On August 26th, Bico sniffed out 85 pounds of marijuana. This week, he did it again. Tuesday Magana and the k-9 were working the area of Wal Mart when they noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. Both occupants appeared nervous to the officer, and both provided inconsistent statements. Bico was directed to sniff the exterior of the vehicle. The dog alerted to the vehicle, and it was searched. The search resulted in the discovery of 88 pounds of marijuana. The vehicle was impounded. Thee occupants, 40 year old Carlos Flores Monreal of Thermal and 55 year old Carmela Herrera Debouche of Moreno Valley, were both arrested. They were booked into County Jail, charged with felony possession of marijuana for sale.
