The numbers were released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. The jobless rate for Imperial County in June was reported at 21.1 percent, down from a revised 22.8% in May, and below the year-ago estimate of 24.6%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 6.2% for the state and 5.5% for the nation during the same period. According to the report, there were 16,700 eligible workers unemployed in June out of an available workforce of 79,200.
