(One World Beef is just about ready)….The CEO says they are entering the final stages.
One World is working towards opening the closed National Beef Plant in Brawley. One World CEO Eric Brandt says several components need to come together in order to reopen the plant. Brandt told Brawley officials he feels they are now in the final stages. He said the most important components to the plant were water and wastewater. He said he is confident those issues can be addressed. He told the officials he would be bringing some issues before the Brawley City Council in the near future, seeking their assistance in reopening the plant. Once it is open, they reportedly plan to hire around 800 employees, about half of the 1,300 employed at by National Beef at the time the plant closed.
