(Park to finally get lights)…It is the Reisen Park in Calexico.
Backers in the City have been trying for over 4 years to convince the City Council to approve the installation. This week it finally happened. The Council agreed $300,000 from the Measure H funds to pay for the installation. Measure H was passed by Calexico voters a few years ago to increase their sales tax and use the funds for public safety projects. It was determined that lighting the park would make it safer for the public, especially children playing in the park when the sun went down. The lights are expected to be installed and operational by the end of the year.
