(The 4th try was the charm)…It was for United Hay Press, Incorporated.
They had gone to the County Planning Commission seeking permission to construct a new plant. Each request failed to receive the majority votes needed to obtain the permit needed. As is their rules, the issue was presented to the Board of Supervisors for a final decision. The Board held a Public Hearing Tuesday. It took the Supervisors little time to decide, after no comments opposing the plant came forward. The Board adopted the resolution adopting the Mitigated Negative Declaration and findings, the approved a resolution to adopt Mitigation, Monitoring and Reporting Program and findings, and they adopted the resolution needed to approve the conditional use permit. The Plant will be constructed on Baughman Road and a Frontage Road off Highway 86. United Press expects to hire ten full time employees.
