(Healthcare extended to illegal immigrants)…A group of 35 California Counties agreed to the offer.
The agreement is to provide basic health care to people in the United States illegally. The decision was made late last week by the government panel of the County Medical Services Program, which pools resources of the mostly rural and sparsely populated counties, to provide health services to the poor. Imperial County is among the 35 counties. The program could begin next year, and several thousand are expected to enroll. The Governor included funds in his new budget to cover the health cost of children in the United States illegally.
