The latest data was compiled in May 2014. According to the information released on the El Centro metropolitan area, which includes all of Imperial County, workers earn 14% less than the national average. The data says the average worker in the area earned $19.49 per hour, as compared to the national average of $22.71 per hour. The highest paid jobs in the area were management occupations who were paid $43.30 per hour, followed by healthcare practitioners and technical occupations at $40.84 per hour. Protective Service occupations accounted for 7.1% of local employment, compared to 2.4% nationally. The complete report is available at
