(Bermudez promoted)….Luis Bermudez has worked 24 years with the County Public Works Department.

Tuesday he was introduced to the Board of Supervisors as the new Deputy Director of Public Works Field Operations. He had served as Public Works Regional Road Superintendent before the promotion. He began his career with the County in 1995 as a Solid Waste Site Attendant. He was gradually promoted through several positions before reaching his current position. Public Works Director John Gay said Bermudez was a critical member of the Public Works family. Among his new responsibilities will be over-seeing the activities of the Public Works Road Crews, focusing on SB 1 road improvement projects. SB 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, provides $54 billion over the next 10 years to fix roads, freeways and bridges in communities across California.
