(Two suffer fatal injuries in single vehicle collision)….The tragic incident occurred near Salton City.
The vehicle, driven by Sandy Quiles of Los Angeles, was Northbound on Highway 86. At just before 1:00 Tuesday afternoon, north of Allen Road, The California Highway Patrol says the left rear tire of the 2003 Ford being driven had treat separation. The CHP says all five of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seatbelts. The right front passenger, a 17 year old from Los Angeles, suffered fatal injuries. Chief Deputy Coroner Sergeant Eric Frazier said the teen was pronounced at the scene. A 56-year-old passenger from Los Angeles was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center, and later died at the hospital. A ten-year-old minor was also flown to Desert Regional with what was described as moderate injuries. The driver and another passenger, 57 year old Adela Quiles of Los Angeles were transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The Highway Patrol says the collision remains under investigation.
