(IID Board to discuss amendments to the EDP)…The Equitable Distribution Plan was approved by the Board recently. It was adopted on a 401 vote with Imperial Irrigation District Director James Hanks voting against. Hanks was on the Committee that put the EDP together. Members of the Water Conservation Committee and the local Farm Bureau all assisted in putting the plan together. The Farm Bureau offered suggestions. Some of the members of the Committee have said they do not support the plan to conserve enough water to pay back the water or-runs from the Colorado River. There is word the Farm Bureau is thinking about retracting its support, as well. The EDP was put together to allow the IID to better manage the allotment of Colorado River water. The Board will also discuss a funding increase for the Salton Sea Authority and they will discuss Local Entity issues. The IID Board of Directors convenes there meeting in public session at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.
