(Life saving measures unsuccessful)…The 911 call came in at 2:30 Sunday afternoon.
Yuma Fire Department personnel responded to the call when they arrived at the home on the west side of Yuma, they found CPR being performed on a 3 year old male child. The child had been found unresponsive in a backyard pool. Once removed, CPR was performed until paramedics arrived. Resuscitation efforts continued as the child was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Fire officials say it is unknown how long the child had been in the pool prior to being found. It is believed the child had gotten out of the house through a doggie door leading to the backyard.
