(Wounded fugitive identified)…The man was shot Wednesday afternoon.
A US Marshall was serving an arrest warrant on the man at a Hotel on South 4th Street in Yuma. Local police were serving as back up. The fugitive reportedly stole a car and began ramming law enforcement vehicles. The Marshall and a Yuma police officer opened fire on the fugitive, wounding him. He was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials have now identified the man as 26-year-old Jesus Bran Ibarra, described as a dangerous, violent gang member. He is still hospitalized. His condition was described as serious but stable. Officials have not said why he was being arrested, other than an arrest warrant was being served.
