Gilmore announces plans to retire

(Brawley Police Chief to step down)…Chief Mark Gilmore announced he would retire.

The Chief submitted his letter last Friday. Gilmore’s retirement will take effect June 30th. He has served the City of Brawley for 22 years, joining the Police Department in 1991. He served four years in the US Navy before that. Gilmore’s Law Enforcement career began in Huntington Beach before transferring to the Westmorland Police Department. He moved to the Brawley Department, working his way up the ranks until being appointed acting Chief in 2006. In his retirement letter, the Chief said he would happily work with the City for a smooth transition to another employee.
