(Border Patrol rescues stranded illegal immigrants)…El Centro Sector agents found the 5 17 miles west of Calexico.
They say all were suffering from heat related symptoms. At the time of their arrest, at around 4:00 in the afternoon, one of the stranded individuals was on his cell phone calling 911. Agents say a 34-year-old female in the group appeared to be suffering heat exhaustion. She was provided assistance. County Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene. The Fire Department contacted REACH emergency flight services. The 34 year old was airlifted to a hospital in San Diego. Her condition is currently listed as critical. The other 4 individuals were transported to a local area hospital. There two teens, a 15 year old and a 12 year old. The other two were in their 30’s. One of the individuals was hospitalized. The other three were treated and released into Border Patrol custody. Agents say the incident highlights the dangers of entering the Country illegally, especially during the summer months.
