Governor Gavin Newsome issued new directives Sunday.

The Governor called for all Californians over 65 to stay in their homes. Residents with chronic health conditions are also told to stay in their homes. Newsome asked that all bars , nightclubs and other nonessential businesses close. The governor called for restaurants to halve their capacities and create the recommended social distancing space of 6 feet. Governor Newsome said that he was calling for home isolation of all seniors in the state but not issuing an enforceable order. As of Sunday there are 335 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in California with six fatalities so far. The governor said that more than half of California's school districts have canceled classes and the state is expected to issue detailed guidelines Monday for schools that remain open.
