(Mountain Fire spreads)…The blaze has now burned an estimated 22, 800 acres.
Cal Fire delivered their latest update Thursday morning. They say the fire burning near Palm Springs is still only 15% contained. The fire was first reported Monday afternoon. Since then, the fire has destroyed 3 mobile homes and 3 residences in Buena Vista. Another home was damaged in that area, a commercial building, a workshop, garage, and cabin have been destroyed in Pine Springs. Eleven out building and 4-6 vehicles have also been destroyed. Evacuation orders have been issued to residents of Idyllwild, the Fern Valley area, and the San Jacinto State Park Wilderness area. An immediate evacuation notice has been issued to the Trail End Community, at the top of Morris Ranch Road. Several Roads have been closed in the area. Cal Fire says they are being assisted by several other agencies. They say almost 3,000 fire personnel are on scene. So far, no injuries have been reported. Evacuation Centers have been set up at Hemet High School, and Hamilton High School. Small animals are being sent to the San Jacinto Animal Shelter.
