U.S. Customs and Border Patrol actions on the Southwest border in January 2020 decreased by 20%.

Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan announced that January's 10% decrease represents a nearly 75% decrease since May 2019. CBP conducted over 36,000 total enforcement actions in January , including 29,200 apprehensions and approximately 7,500 inadmissibility decisions. The overall number of nationwide enforcement actions was also 37% lower than in January 2019.

CBP also announced the seizure of over 50,000 pounds of drugs on the Southwest border.
