(Deputy involved shooting)…It was reported in Yuma Sunday evening.
Deputies responded to a call of domestic violence in the 6200 block of South Avenue 8 and a half. The first Deputy on scene arrived to find 63 year old Chris Cadotte of Orange County, California armed with a knife. The Deputy ordered the man to drop the knife, but officials say he refused and charged the Deputy. They say Cadotte ignored repeated commands to drop the knife, and continued to charge the Deputy. The Deputy then shot the man. The 63 year old collapsed and an ambulance was called. Deputies rendered first aid until Rural Metro personnel arrived. The man was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he succumbed from the gunshot wound. Anyone with any information surrounding the incident is asked to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s office. Callers can remain anonymous.
